In the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 1, Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth. Both women are expecting babies who will later change the world. Mary pronounces the Magnificat: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God.” This concert is about the music of John Rutter, but also about visitations. Columbia Chorale hosts Cantus Firmus, a Brazilian choir that will perform exquisite Brazilian songs to complete the program.
