Music is one of the most common forms of worship. At MUMC, we have a wide variety of options for adults, youth, and children who like to sing or play an instrument. Our primary goal is to praise the Lord and inspire our congregation with exciting and challenging repertoire. We also strive to create a welcoming, warm, and productive environment for fellowship and mutual support. You are welcome here, even if you've never sung a single note, or ever played an instrument. We are here to help let you bloom.
Chancel Choir is an adult, mixed ensemble that provides traditional sacred choral literature for the worship service at 10:30am each Sunday.* Rehearsals are held weekly on Wednesday nights in room CLC 101.
Wesleyan Ringers is an adult handbell ensemble directed by Kaye Miller. Wesleyan Ringers perform in worship at least once each semester. No experience is required.
Serendipity Choir (2 years through 1st Grade) is offered during at 10:15-10:45am service every Sunday. Grace Notes (2nd through 5th Grades) have rehearsals Sunday evenings at 6pm in the Chapel. FX (Family Experience/Faith Expression) meets on Wednesday evenings at 6pm in CLC 103
Volunteering to sing or play
If you sing or play an instrument and would like to perform in church... please know that there are many ways in which an amateur or professional musician can contribute. Special music solos, accompanying musicians, playing the piano for services, helping out with youth and children's programs, singing/playing for outreach programs (such as nursing homes and jail ministry.)
