MUMC Kids – Grow in Faith and Community
At Missouri United Methodist Church (MUMC), we believe that children are a vital part of our church family! MUMC Kids is a fun, engaging, and faith-filled environment where children can learn about God’s love, make new friends, and grow in their faith journey—all in a safe and welcoming space. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or looking for a church home for your family, we’re excited to welcome you and your child into our vibrant children’s ministry!
Sunday Worship Services
Families with children of any age are welcome at our Sunday worship services. We have 3!
Chapel (8-9 AM)
This is our small traditional worship service, giving those attending a chance to voice prayer requests, choose hymns, and really get to know one another.
City (9:30-10:30 AM)
This is our modern worship service, created to be welcoming to families. In this service, we sing modern worship songs and practice communion weekly. Rocking chairs and children's tables with busy boxes can be found in the City space.
Cathedral (11 AM-12 PM)
This is our large traditional worship service, where the Skinner organ and full choir can be enjoyed. Children's worship bags with activities and fidgets can be found at the entry to the sanctuary next to the elevator. Occasionally, a children's sermon is given in this service around holidays or special events.

Sunday School
From 11 AM to 12 PM, Sunday School for children takes place in Whittler Hall. We have 3 Sunday School classes, which are divided by age: preschool (ages 3 to 5), kindergarten through 2nd grade, and 3rd through 5th grade. Sunday School typically includes music time, a Bible Story video, and related activities and games. We use the Orange curriculum, which you can explore at thinkorange.com. Children must be checked in and out of Sunday School by a parent or guardian. We take safety seriously and lock all doors during service. All Sunday School volunteers are Safe Gatherings certified and have been trained to serve in this area.
Nursery
Our nursery is open for children aged 0-3 from 7:45 AM to 12:15 PM on Sundays. The nursery check-in/out process is the same as the Sunday School check-in process. Please bring any diapers, wipes, snacks, or drinks your child may need while in the nursery with you. A minimum of two nursery employees will care for your child while you attend church. Our nursery employees are Safe Gatherings and CPR/AED/First Aid trained. The nursery is also open for choir rehearsals on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 and for other special events.
MyFam Events
MUMC Kids hosts events for the whole family throughout the week! Some examples of events include:
Parent Table Potlucks (Parents build community while kids play with one another.)
Intergenerational Potlucks
Tabletop Gaming
Movie Nights
Parents' Night Out
Seasonal events like Halloweenie, trips to Shryock's Corn Maze, Easter egg hunts, and more!

VBS
In the summer, MUMC hosts Vacation Bible School! Our 2026 dates and theme will be announced soon. At VBS, kids learn Bible stories, sing songs, make crafts, and play games. Dinner is provided nightly.
