Come Hangout With Us

Come As You Are – You Belong Here

College is a time of big questions and big changes, and we’re here to support, encourage, and walk with you. No matter where you are in your faith journey, you are welcomed, loved, and valued at The Neighborhood.

Tuesday Study Day: We open up our cozy college space often for students, especially on Tuesday, from 8:30am-4:30pm. Enjoy free wifi, coffee, tea, snacks, board games, tv if you need a break from studying, and our cozy seating. We’ve got lots of places to plug in and unplug. Come hang out! Our location right across from Mizzou’s campus and Shakespeare’s makes it easy to stop by if you need a safe space to crash for a minute.

Serve Locally: There are endless opportunities to serve with our church locally in Columbia: Loaves & Fishes, Boone County Jail Ministry, COMAC, Sustainability at True/False Film Festival, and more. Missouri UMC has a long history of active involvement with the unhoused and vulnerable in Columbia. This church was pivotal at the onset of Room at the Inn and has more than championed the start of the Opportunity Campus for people who struggle with housing insecurity and the like in Columbia. Come join a people serious about being helpers and supporting other helpers.

Pickleball & Pods: Saturdays are for special interests sometimes around here when we’re not busy serving. So, at 10am, we play pickleball in Missouri UMC's gym. We’ve got three courts, and all equipment is provided. No experience necessary. After that, at 1pm, starting Jan. 31, we have an alternating offering of either Silent Reading Pod (read together…silently) or Fabric Arts Pod (crochet, cross stitch, etc.) at 1pm in the cozy Neighborhood College Area.

Sunday Mornings at MUMC

We’d love for you to join us for worship on Sundays! You’ll find a welcoming community where you can connect with others, encounter God, and be encouraged for the week ahead.

8:00 AM – Chapel Service (Traditional, Intimate Setting)
A smaller, reflective service in our chapel—perfect for those who enjoy a peaceful start to their Sunday.

9:30 AM – City Service (Modern Worship)
A contemporary worship experience with engaging music, relevant teaching, and a relaxed atmosphere. This is a great service for college students!

11:00 AM – Cathedral Service (Classic, Traditional Worship)
Held in our beautiful, historic sanctuary with choir, organ music, and timeless liturgy.

After service, stop by and say hi—we’d love to meet you!
