Director of Communications

Overview

The Director of Communications supports our mission of connecting all people to Jesus Christ. by ensuring that the church’s communications are clear, consistent, welcoming, and of high quality. While not responsible for setting ministry strategy, the role shapes how that vision is communicated to the congregation and wider community.

The role requires a skilled storyteller who can communicate the mission and vision of our church in creative and compelling ways that strengthen our existing ministries and invite engagement from new audiences. The Director collaborates closely with staff and congregants, manages projects independently, and maintains excellent attention to detail.

Values

The Director of Communications must be comfortable working in a progressive United Methodist context and communicating with warmth, clarity, and theological sensitivity. The Director will oversee the church’s communications to ensure printed and digital materials are welcoming, inclusive, and aligned with the mission, values, and visual identity of Missouri UMC.
